Coppersmith Brockelman’s Scott Bennett recently earned his credential as a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the United States (CIPP/US).

To earn his CIPP/US, Scott demonstrated extensive knowledge of the U.S. privacy environment, including the fundamental privacy laws and issues in healthcare, education, the financial sector, credit reporting, and employee monitoring.

For more than a decade, the CIPP has been globally recognized as a standard for privacy professionals in a variety of industries.  The CIPP certification is offered by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the largest information privacy community and resource in the world.

Scott has considerable experience representing hospitals and other health care providers. A substantial part of his work involves assisting clients with issues relating to information privacy and security.  He works with clients in health care and in other industries to help them prevent, prepare for, and respond to data breaches.
